Lao:

  1. Laotians proud of their country after spectacular SEA Games opening ceremony. Laos wins one more gold in weightlifting, three bronze in Taekwondo, Karate.
  2. Many more Lao officials will study Vietnamese history, Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, Marxism-Leninism in Hanoi.

Tibetan:

  1. Tibetan NGOs say Chinese govt “wants to use world’s concerns about environment to justify colonization of Tibet, forced removal of nomadic herders from their homes.”
  2. Dalai Lama attends Nobel Peace Prize anniversary in Melbourne, expresses concern for peoples of Africa, indigenous Australians. Urges recording of culture.
  3. Tibetan diaspora in Nepal hails Dalai Lama on anniversary of his winning Nobel Peace Prize 20 years ago.
  4. Bhutan’s Secretary for International Boundaries tells Parliament that Chinese soldiers intruded into Bhutan as many as 17 times in 2009 alone.
  5. Obama acknowledges criticism of his Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo, but hopes it will subside if he reaches goals, including cutting nuclear weapons, tackling climate change.

Burmese:

Vietnamese:
