2009 News Not All Bad, but Sometimes Odd

A review of the past year by the Reuters news agency found 2009 was marked by more than economic woes, the inauguration of the first African-American U.S. President, and a continuation of the many ongoing conflicts.

There were also stories that really showed humanity is not only capable of great good and evil but also great stupidity and strangeness.

From the German town that unwittingly advertised pornography on its Web site to the American who interrupted his wedding to update his Facebook and Twitter accounts, the world was full of weird stories in 2009.

“Standing at the alter with fTracyPage where just a second ago she became my wife! Gotta go, time to kiss the bride” is how Dana Hanna kept the world posted between “I do” and that kiss.
